Stanza 1 Commentary

Homage to the venerable Lamas.

I, Dzong-ka-ba, will explain as well as I can, in accordance with the thought of the Conqueror:

1. the meaning of the essence of all the Conqueror‘s scriptures, the complete thought to leave cyclic existence;
2. the path praised by the Conqueror’s children, the mind of enlightenment; and
3. the gate for those fortunate ones desiring liberation, the exalted wisdom realizing emptiness.
