The Five Objects of the Senses:
This fivefold division of form comprises those things apprehendable by the
sense consciousnesses:
- visible forms - objects of the eye-consciousness (rupa, gzugs)
- sounds - objects of the ear consciousness (sabda, sgra)
- odors - objects of the nose consciousness (gandha, dri)
- tastes - objects of the tongue consciousness (rasa, ro)
- tangible objects - objects of the body consciousness (sparstavya, reg bya)
