After familiarization and meditation in this way, if you do not have one moment of admiration for the marvels of cyclic existence—even for the kingdoms of Brahma, Indra, Chakravarta, not to say the others— and moreover have an attitude of disgust from the heart for this kind [of existence]; and when, in dependence on that [attitude of disgust], there arises a fundamental thought always seeking liberation, then that is the criteria for generating a pure intention definitely to emerge [from cyclic existence].
